The pacific Institute has been actively involved with a number of pressing social issues including, for example,  global warming, deforestation of temperate and tropical rain forests, global fisheries decline, desertification, overpopulation and the genital mutilation of children around the world. 

This page contains papers, letters, links and discussions on these and other important issues that must be considered by every thinking person on this planet.   New material is added here regularly, so we ask our cyber-visitors to return here regularly in order to get informed about this issues and to hopefully begin to take a more active role in seeking solutions for their eventual resolution.
